Powergel Trimex

Powergel Trimex is designed for blasting of perimeter holes in development and tunnel headings. It provides a radially decoupled explosive charge in the blasthole. The small diameter, high velocity of detonation and low decoupled energy of Trimex minimises blast damage to the walls and backs leaving behind a smooth profile with minimal overbreak. It is water resistant and can be used both in wet and dry blastholes.

CHARGING

Plastic Wings ensure that the cartridge is securely retained in the blasthole (Figure 1).
Trimex tubes are needed to be connected together as they are inserted into the blasthole (Figure 2 & Figure 3).

HIGH POWER

The new formulation Trimex which have been used by EU Countries and USA since early 2000s, is a cap sensitive emulsion explosive packaged in 19x735mm rigid plastic tubes. The tubes ends are sealed with caps and joiners that interconnect, enabling assembly to suit any blasthole length. Plastic wings can be selectively clipped on to the tubes to ensure that the cartridge is securely retained in the blasthole.

HIGH SAFETY FEATURES

Besides its high performance capabilities Trimex has the highest safety features. It is specially formulated for underground use which reduces post blasting fumes and improves turnround time.

TECHNICAL PROPERTIES

Technical Properties given, are the ideal values. The velocity of detonation depends on cartridge diameter and cartridge confinement (confined or unconfined). The detonation pressure and heat is a function of velocity of detonation.

INITIATION

Trimex should be initiated by No.8* detonators. It should not be initiated under -15 C.

STORAGE

Trimex has a storage life up to 12 months in approved magazines.
